ART DIRECTION + UX / UI
If your water could get you sick, would you like to know? Meet Kaiya. She was born with Gastroschisis, a fancy word for a condition where your intestines grow outside of your body in the womb.
This birth defect may have been caused by a high level of Atrazine in her water supply. While the exact circumstances of her story are unique, local hospitals have encountered a significantly larger occurrence of this birth defect than the national average. While definitive answers are elusive, we can all agree that clean water is essential to healthy living.
We decided to build an app that would gather local water quality information and inform the community.
.01 Geo-tagged water tests provide relevant information classification.
.02 A Google Map-like interface presents the most recent water quality data in a simple color coded classification. Blue = Good, Green = Ok, Red = Warning.
.03 Each dot carried information linked to it allowing the user to further investigate findings, their potential health risks and access information on contaminants filtering solutions. A search feature allowing users to research specific contaminants.
.04 A social networking section allowing users to connect to other water conscious users, join a clean up event or start a new one.
